Update as of 1/2/2022 ! Thanks to ranking team member Yabje, I am happy to announce once more that this map is going for a ranked status ! :D In addition to the future PP that will be harvested from this grand escape, slight changes have been made to some of the patterns so those of you who already played the map, welcome to test your resolve one more with this updated version ! .................................................................................................................................................... In all my years of playing video games..........few games managed to really steer an emotional attachment quite like Ori and the Blind forest. Apart from amazing art work, fun gameplay, sad and eventful story - the soundtrack is superb and magnifies the experience - credit to the composer Gareth Coker for such an amazing score and Aerali Brighton for her angel like vocal voice. Some claimed the soundtrack was so good that it made them tear on the menu screen already.......having mapped that OST already, it's time to move on to yet another amazing OST ! This map will feature 5 total difficulties, with 2 modes - One Saber included ! Forwarding the story narration and elaboration of the previous Main Menu track,The Spirit Tree and Climbing The Ginso Tree and Restoring the Light, Facing the Dark and The Waters Cleansed. It's time to move on with the story for those interested ! :D SPOILER AHEAD for those who have not played the game and do wish to one day ! .......................................................................................................................................................................... With the restoration of the waters of Nibel, the way forward to the Forlurn Ruins is now open ! Similar to the Ginso Tree, before Ori and Sein will be able to enter the ruins, they must first acquire a key to open it. The ruins, being the home of the Gumon, require them to find the Gumon Seal, located deep in the Misty Woods......... The woods themselves might prove a challenging obstacle for Ori and Sein, for it is told that all that many creatures that have gone in, never got out............ Setting their sights on the goal, Ori and Sein enter the Misty Woods at last, and they are immediately greated with the forests core feature - a thick fog that greatly hinders their sight...... Besides the fog itself, it feels as though the forest is possesed by some sort of wicked magic........for when they tried to back track their way, they failed to recognize the way they came.... The forest is ever changing, possessed by unknown magic that leave many confused and lost....... Fortunately, Seins wisdoms once again helps them on their journey, for Sein knows that the source of the fog is caused by the Shrouded Lantern, which resides in the forest and can be dispelled if they manage to find Atsu's Torch, an item thought lost in the woods but might still be found...... Ori and Sein set sight on the item, and continue to wander the foggy forest....... ............................................Time goes by...................................................................... Success has blessed Ori and Sein, for their persistence and hard work has led them to find the torch at last ! Retracing their steps, they approach the Shrouded Lantern and insert the torch, immediately clearing the mist ! Paving the way forward and restoring the since of direction, they find the Gumon Seal at last ! Now the way forward to the Forlurn Ruins is all but open, and thus, they head off to next destination....... .........................................Time goes by yet again................................................ On their way to the ruins, Ori and Sein freeze at their steps, for it appears Kuro is on the prowl once more.......she appears to be observing the fields, looking to settle the score with Ori after his lucky escape from her grasp..... As Kuro blocks the way to the ruins, Sein suggest they distract her by crumbling a huge mass of rocks that so happens to be right above her head...... Bashing through the air and reaching the rocks, Ori uses the very strength of his ancestrals to smash the rocks on Kuro ! Stunned by the ordeal, Kuro flees, while lossing some of her feathers in the rushed escape. Ori, descending back to where Kruo flew from, finds one of her massive feathers, which can be used to glide the winds in these lands ! Somehow, Ori believes this feather will surely prove useful in the coming journey........ With the way forward open once again, Ori and Sein arrive at the ruins at last, they insert the Gumon Seal and enter the ruins. When the enter, they discover a horrific scene.......all of the Gumos have frozen to death, for without the winds that carried warmth air, their home became their grave...... Sein, saddened by the sight, motivate Ori to keep on going and restore the winds for the sake of the Gumo kind, which also saved Ori from Kuro the other day ! As they venture deeper into the ruins, said Gumo arrive at his home after recovering his sanity through the kindness Ori showed how, only to discover his fellow kin at their unfortunate state...... With sad eyes, Gumo turned his attention to Ori and Seins actions, to see investigate what brought them to his home. Ori and Sein discover a Light Vessel, a gift that was given to the Gumo by the spirit tree in a gesture of good will in the past. Taking the Light Vessel, they discover that it holds the key to activate many mechanicals aspacts in the ruins that are needed to safely traverse. And so, they head off..... ..........................................Time goes by.................................................. After slowly traversing the ruins with the Light Vessel, Ori finds an iconic pedestal which appears to be designated for the insertion of the Light Vessel. As they insert the vessel, the stairs to the core suddenly open up ! Climbing the stairs , Ori and Seing at last stand before the Forlurn Ruins core.......the second element of Nibel, ready to be restored ! As Sein approaches the core, she says the following sentence : Sein : "The Elements of Wind lies before us, stored in the heart of this place!" "These Ruins are all that is left of the Gumon, reminding us of their fate....." "Losing the ones that he love, Gumo is the last of his kind....." "Ori, we shall bring back the light ! for Nibel and the memory of the Gumon ! let us restore the Elements of Wind ! " All the while Gumo was below them, catching up to their trail and hearing each word, once more stunned by the sheer kindness Ori and Sein showed him..... Gumo decides to take action, as Sein begins to chants her magic once more and restore the core, Gumo quickly grabs the Light Vessel Ori inserted in the pedestal, for he knows the best way he can repay him for his kindness... As Sein restores the core, all the pieces piece come together and become whole once more ! However....... little did they know that the restoration of the core will cause it to emit a powerful shockwave, one that will shake the entire ruins ! As the shockwave travels through the ruins, the very ground beneath Ori begins to shake and crumbles beneath his very feet ! Falling down, Ori quickly deploys the feather he has acquired from Kuro, and glides the newly restored winds from the core upwards and towards the exit......which is unfortunately riddled with spikes, falling stones and powerful winds ! Once more, similar to the Ginso Tree, Ori and Sein must find their way out, before they find their grave at the elements hands ! Will Ori and Sein safely reach the exit before the ruins collapse on their very heads ? .......................................................................................................................................................................................... Thus, ended another chapter in the Ori journey, untill next time ! :) I would like to thank monster, 3stans and Kaltern and the BSMG for testing the map and proving much needed feedback !
